"Prototype" was a Dark Hunter, who was created as two Toa were fused together.
History[]
Pre-Creation[]
Unlike other inhabitants of the Matoran Universe, "Prototype" did not come into being on Speherus Magna. However, a Ta-Matoran and an Onu-Matoran were created. These two Matoran eventually became Toa.
Spear of Fusion[]
In a period prior to the Great Cataclysm, an unnamed Dark Hunter obtained the Spear of Fusion and began to experiment the weapon's ability to fuse multiple beings. In this experiment, the Dark Hunter ambushed the Toa of Fire and the Toa of Earth and used the Spear of Fusion on them. This resulted in the two Toa being fused together as one, driving them both insane as their two consciousnesses became one. The resulting creature then fled from the Dark Hunter and disappeared from the organization's radar for a number of centuries.
Recruitment into the Dark Hunters[]
The Creature later resurfaced when several Dark Hunters searched a swamp and found him wounded. They were able to transport him back to Odina, where his damaged armor was repaired and he was restored to health.
The Shadowed One later approached the Creature and gave him a place in the organization, assigning it the codename "Prototype" as he was created through a Dark Hunter experiment.
Piraka Rebellion[]
5000 years ago, "Prototype" had worked his way up to lead The Shadowed One's guards. He was responsible for protecting the outside of his Leader's Fortress. However, around this point, five Dark Hunters - who would later become the Piraka - attempted to overthrow The Shadowed One by breaking into his Fortress and killing him. The cpnspirators planned to have Vezok distract "Prototype" then have Zaktan ambush the guard with his Laser Eyebeams. However, Zaktan's eyebeams had little effect on "Prototype"'s armor and alerted him to the attempted rebellion. Luckily, Vezok was able to persuade "Prototype" to go and tell The Shadowed One, who he claimed was in a Training Center on the other side of the island. Forgetting that he would in fact be inside the very fortress he was guarding, "Prototype" set off in search of The Shadowed One in hopes of warning him about the rebellion.
After the Piraka were captured and the rebellion ended, "Prototype" was likely punished for his act of stupidity.
